It's difficult to say. To some extent, debating the meaning of "the metaverse" is similar to debating the meaning of "the internet" in the 1970s. The foundations of a new mode of communication were being put in place, but no one knew what the final product would look like. While it was true at the time that "the internet" was on the way, not every vision of what it would include was accurate. Now question arises that what it is exactly? What purpose it will serve? Carnival in Rio de Janeiro Festival
Known as 'Earth's Greatest Show' Rio Carnival is an iconic annual festival which welcomes millions of people from all over the world. A festival that is held across Latin America's largest country, Brazil, is a one-time event that must be listed on the bucket of travellers. One of the most important attractions in the world, Rio Carnival has evolved over the years. It was once celebrated just prior to Lent, with its roots in Roman Catholic traditions. Carnival was the last festival before the next 40 days of Christian fasting. The Rio carnival tradition transformed into small balls and masquerade dances, similar to the high-class festivals which took place in Europe when Portuguese settlers were first arrived in Brazil in the early 1600's. In addition, the Portuguese settlers also shared traditional customs and paid homage to their culture and gods in African slaves and workers. It is visible now by masks, costumes and music of modern times.
Rio Carnival's history can be regarded as very complex, but today's celebrations now embrace a fusion of traditions of African, Portuguese and Indigenous culture and a moment to celebrate. It says that in Brazil a new year will only begin after the Carnival of Rio. Rio Carnival begins on Friday before Ash Wednesday and goes on for five days. Starting a month before Carnival weekends, the street parties often go on for those wanting the festivities to continue for a number of weeks. All major Rio de Janeiro events, including a samba parade, the Copacabana Palace Magic Ball, bloc and street party events, and more, are held in Rio de Janeiro. However, the whole country, including the coastal city Salvador, has smaller but equally audacious and vibrant Carnival events.
Rio Carnival is an extraordinary year-round festival with bright colours, courageous costumes and vibrant samba sounds. In February or March (in accordance with the calendar), the Rio carnival is also held in Brazil during the middle of the summer. Take heat and moisture!
It covers elaborate suits filled with exquisite feathers, sequins, slippers. The vibrant energy and years of history of Rio Carnival are truly different in this world.
Headlights of Parade - samba schools-
Samba schools are made up of thousands of old and expert dancers and musicians from the same neighbourhood. The first samba school was established in 1928 and the first Samba Parade contest, an important part of the Rio Carnival history, was held shortly thereafter. At the Sambódromo Marquês de Sapucaí, Rio de Janeiro (or Darcy Ribeiro, Professor of Passarela), the most famous sambódromos parade takes place during the Carnival in Rio de Janeiro. Each samba school has a bit more than an hour to compete with 80,000 spectators screaming and excited, judged by their singing, dance, decorative costumes, floats and energy. Each samba school selects its overall theme and contests the storey or samba internally by songwriters. Samba schools even took political stands in the past couple of years, and this theme is then reflected in the show's views. The town shines with the local people or Cariocas smiles and energies. Samba music from neighbourhoods across the city can be heard and crowds gather for dance and play the whole day, night and the next morning. It is Cariocas' inherent spirit and true joy of life that makes Rio Carnival year after year such a glorious success! As preparations continue throughout the year for the Carnival, some weeks before the big competition weekend, technical rehearsals are held by the samba Schools in the Sambadrome. This is the first time that the world is waiting for the most extravagant, beautiful and sexy event with baited breath. It is a sign for every Carioca that her holiday is around the corner. The Carnival can be viewed on TV screens worldwide. The spirit and energy of the event transcend the one-dimensional view of the TV, captivating every viewer and drawing them into the festival's excitement and ecstasy.
